(This is not a forum game.)

What makes a game fun?
-The PvP?
-The graphics?
-The items?
-The monster killing?
-The players?

I was thinking about why nobody plays MMORTS's... (no, starcraft is not a mmorts, it is 4 players a map, I mean thousands of players on a map like an mmorpg.)
The only MMOFPS I can think of is Planetside.

I like the people, you can meet crazy people like you are. It's so easy to interact with people in an online game like Guild Wars, you just log on and you can be surrounded by a hundred people. It can be fun going around and doing the stuff like killing monsters or getting items with other people. I find it alot more fun than doing it by yourself

. PvP can be linked back to the people thing. It's nice to fight against something with a brain and it's also more satisfying when you win against a real person

Interaction with people around your city, state, country, region, continent, whatever. Meeting new peope and being able to do stuff with others makes it fun for me. The idea of dealing with different people in different situations makes things a lot more interesting. People get to meet other jerks, assholes, nice people, calm, ecstatic, energetic, etc.

Randomness. You never know what you're going to find, even though finding that group of Noobs usually leaves a bad taste in your mouth for a while.

For me, it is making the conscious decision NOT to attend forums that deal mostly with that particular game. In all seriousness, the constant talking about it, pre-release,post-release, and in-game, kill it for me. It makes me burnout.

i can irritate more people in an online game, than i normally could in my everyday life, without somehow getting arrested anyway, so thats what makes then fun

A lot of the MMO part entails earninig better skills, and items, and unconsciously flaunting them while trying to earn even more.
